Founded in 2012 by Mugu Mir—a well-known tour guide active in Mongolia’s travel industry since 2008—Mir Expeditions reflects her commitment to care, integrity, and authentic travel. With close friends managing operations and family supporting international relations, Mir Expeditions is a proudly Mongolian team with a global outlook.
We aim to become Mongolia’s top inbound travel company—valued by our guests and respected by our partners. Every journey we offer is guided by care, authenticity, and a deep respect for the land and its people.
We create unforgettable journeys that blend adventure, meaningful connection, and lasting memories. Each experience reveals Mongolia’s natural beauty and the heartfelt hospitality of its people.
We’re a creative, quality-first team that puts safety and care at the heart of everything we do. We treat guests like family, support our staff responsibly, and run an ethical, environmentally conscious business.
Our company is officially registered and certified by the Mongolian Tourism Organization (MTO), a government body under the Ministry of Nature, Environment and Tourism that promotes and develops Mongolia’s tourism sector.
Mongolia is wild, vast, and breathtaking—but still developing. Roads are rough, services are scattered, and solo travel is rarely smooth. We use properly configured left-hand drive vehicles to match Mongolia’s right-hand traffic. Many tour companies rely on second-hand imports—especially Japanese right-hand drive cars—which don’t suit local road conditions and may compromise safety and our motorcycles are recent models, chosen for Mongolia’s terrain and regularly maintained for safety and performance.
Our tour guides and drivers are officially certified by the Mongolian Professional Tourist Guide Association (MPTGA), the Mongolian Tourism Organization (MTO), and the Traffic Police Department of Mongolia—ensuring safe, knowledgeable, and legally compliant service.
We’re a respected local company with strong partnerships. That means top-rated accommodation, priority access to restaurants, guides, entertainment, and domestic flights—plus exclusive discounts from our partners, so you enjoy the best while spending less.
By joining our small group, you save money. And because we’re trusted by top local providers, we receive special rates—allowing us to keep tour prices lower than other companies without compromising quality.
Mir Expeditions isn’t a conventional tour company—we’re committed to protecting Mongolia’s untouched landscapes and uplifting its nomadic communities. Our principle is simple: “No trash behind—only tracks.” A portion of every tour supports local nomad herder families, helping preserve one of the world’s last true nomadic cultures with dignity and care.
When you choose a Mongolian-owned company like Mir Expeditions, your payment stays where it belongs: in Mongolia. It directly supports our economy, our people, and our future. We firmly believe tourism should benefit the country it takes place in—not overseas operators. Every journey with us is a step toward meaningful, local impact.
